This project is one of our favorites. The site featured a challenging and significant slope coming down towards the house.
With over a thousand yards of dirt excavated from the site and the terrain transformed, the result is fantastic.
This modern designed backyard starts with a unique open porch leading off the house. The porch as well as all the hardscaping patio surfaces are done using natural flagstone.
Adjacent to the open porch area is an outdoor patio space featuring a built-in grill and bar area. Leaving the grilling and patio area, you walk towards the new pool.
The pool is a custom Gunite pool with an integrated auto cover and elevated spa. Looking beyond the pool, the landscape has been terraced with a series of masonry retaining walls and large boulder outcroppings.
The boulders are Missouri Limestone brought in specifically for this project and weighs between 4,000 lb and 6,000 lbs each.
Each boulder worked by hand and was fitted into the hillside with special equipment to retain the soil and to create a beautiful network of terraced beds and spaces within the landscape.
Elevated above the end of the pool is a separate patio space featuring a large linear burner style fire feature.
